A Little Coors Field Trivia
Opened in 1995, Coors Field quickly earned a reputation as the most hitter-friendly park in Major League Baseball. The record for the most home runs hit in a single season at park was broken twice at Coors Field, despite its unusually large outfield. The reason, it turns out, was ball density. The park has the highest elevation in the league and the air is dry up here. Dry air leads to harder balls. Harder balls mean more homeruns. A huge humidor was installed in which to store the balls and now the field's homerun average is in line with other ballparks in the league.
